EVIDENCE OF TSANG HUI CHING FRUIT STALL MANAGER AFFIRMED.

My name is Tsang Hui Ching and I am a fruit stall

manager. I was at the counter of my fruit stall at the

time of the fire. My stall was near the bathroom on the

port side of the main deck. I saw smoke on the opposite

side from where I was and people shouting "Fire" so I

stood up and told the people to keep quiet.

I rushed up

the port ladder to fetch a fire extinguisher and then went

half way down the starboard ladder and played the extin-

guisher on to fire. My foki also got a fire extinguisher

from near my stall and played it on the fire. We put the

fire out but later smoke appeared nearby and people became

panicky.

The baggage was carefully

stowed and there were passage ways between the baggage.

Passengers brought the baggage with them. I saw one woman

fall overboard from the upper deck port side so I took

off my coat and rescued her. If there had been no panic

all passengers could very easily have left the ship. I

saw many passengers trying to get their baggage ashore.
